Chelmsford,MA: The Head of Children’s Services at the Chelmsford Library, Maureen Foley, has been doing the summer reading program for eons and looks forward to it every year. This year she has crafted a program for readers which is both challenging and fun. As part of the Summer Reading Program at the library, Foley is introducing a math component using Bedtimemath.com. This website posts one math problem per day. Students will do the problem, and fill in a constellation chart that will cover forty one days. Altitude Jump Pass coupons are a strong incentive for the children and, according to Foley, “they light up when they hear this is the prize!”
Altitude Trampoline Park is partnering with area libraries through its Reading Rewards program. “Spike’s Reading Rewards”, named in honor of the Altitude mascot, provides motivation for students Quick read more or view full article to jump into reading with their library summer programs. “The math piece is a pilot program we are doing with children ages 5-12.”, Foley says, and “word of mouth is spreading and we are now getting children who come in because they heard about the pass.”
Spike’s Reading Rewards will be offered in the following library reading programs this summer: Andover, Billerica, Bolton, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Dunstable, Groton, Lawrence, Littleton, Middleton, North Reading, Newton, Reading, Stoneham, Tewksbury, Westford, Wilmington, and Woburn. Altitude Trampoline Park is located at 700 Boston Road in Billerica, Massachusetts. For more information visit www.altitudeparkma.com.
